194th Armored Brigade, A-1-405

Description  

On a shield 2 inches (5.08 cm) overall in width and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) overall in height per chevron reversed and abased yellow and per pale blue and red, a black mace and a black battle-ax saltirewise all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border.

 

Symbolism
The colors yellow, blue and red are used for principal combat arms elements of an Armored organization. The crossed mace and battle-ax allude to assault tactics and the shield to defense. The crossed weapons also simulate the letter “X” as a reference to the military symbol for brigades.

 

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 13 January 1966. It was amended to revise the symbolism on 21 September 1979.
